Showcase Applications are OPEN for Folk Music Ontario, Canada’s largest annual conference devoted to the folk, roots, and traditional music community. The conference offers training, showcasing, and networking opportunities for artists and music industry professionals in Canada and the international Folk community, with customized programming for folks at any stage of their career, from emerging to export-ready.
WHO CAN APPLY: Showcases are awarded based on artistic merit and performance readiness, and are assessed by a committee of music industry professionals. We welcome applications from outside of Ontario and Canada; International artists, and artists based outside of Ontario are eligible to apply and showcase.

FMO Member Rate: $30.00
Non-Member Rate: $40.00
Application form Instructions:
- Click “Register Now” (please note that this is a showcase application and not your conference registration)
- Enter your email address. If you are already in the Member 365 system, you will be prompted to check your email for a link to continue
- Choose your ticket type. FMO members will be recognized by their email and be offered the Member rate. If you do not see the proper rate, please contact us… you may be using an email different to the one in our system.
- Click on “Assign Ticket”. This will prompt your name and email, as well as the showcase application form.
- If you’re applying on behalf of more than one band, it is recommended you do so all at once. If you cannot do so, please contact us directly and we’ll help you out.
- Once the form has been filled out, proceed to the checkout screen to make your payment. You’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know your application has been received. The system automatically will send a message saying that you have registered. This is in reference to your showcase application, and is not a registration for the FMO Conference.

All applicants will be contacted once the juries have reviewed all applications following the deadline of March 13. Artists not chosen for an official showcase may still have the opportunity to play in a spotlight showcase, sponsored showcase, or open stage event.
All showcases will be taking place in-person, during the Folk Music Ontario Conference, October 3-6, 2024, in Mississauga, Ontario.
CONFERENCE REGISTRATION: All applicants - regardless of if they are selected for a showcase - will be sent a code to access discount artist pricing on conference registration fees. Showcase artists and their support team must register for the conference. Artists are guaranteed a discounted conference registration rate regardless of Showcase award status. Watch for this code in your email once the conference registration opens!

Who can access the Folk Music Ontario Members member portal?
Please note that the Folk Music Ontario Members member portal is to be used by members of Folk Music Ontario Members only. Certain workspaces within the member portal will be tailored for and restricted to certain membership types; access to these areas will be determined and approved by Folk Music Ontario Members staff. The Content that is displayed in your member portal will automatically vary based on your user / membership type.
